Undertow Field Hockey Club is the youth division of Tidewater FHC, providing coaching and playing opportunities for those wanting to learn and improve their skills in the game of field hockey. The U12 team is designed for elementary and early middle school age players beginning their club field hockey journey. Undertow practices up to 3 times per week year-round and participates in local and regional tournaments. The club uses standard field hockey equipment and trains for standard 11v11 game play. Undertow coaches have a wide background of experience including former Division I, II and III college players, current high school coaches, and umpires. The U12 team is coached by Zoe Hammond and Stephanie Clark, with support from volunteer coaches including Byerley Myers and Nicole Duimstra. Goalie coaching is provided by Ashley Heyden and volunteer coach Gabi Gray. All costs paid by players are returned in the form of tournament fees, club fees, practice times and coach reimbursements. This is a non-profit organization committed to developing youth field hockey players.
