The Counselor-in-Training II (CIT II) program is an advanced two-week leadership experience for teens who have completed CIT I and are ready to take their counseling skills to the next level. This program provides more independence and responsibility as participants apply their leadership training in real camp settings. CIT II participants work more directly with campers, lead activities with minimal supervision, and take on greater responsibility in program planning and implementation. The program focuses on advanced topics including conflict resolution, inclusive programming, emergency response, and professional development. Participants will have opportunities to specialize in activity areas of interest while continuing to develop their overall counseling abilities. CIT II graduates are well-prepared to apply for paid counselor positions at Girl Scout camps. This program requires completion of CIT I or equivalent leadership training, plus an application and interview process.
