Young Adventurers Camp was created for younger campers ages 6-9 who are looking to do more than just fishing and want a variety of outdoor experiences. This camp offers a diverse range of activities to introduce campers to the outdoors in a safe and positive way, perfect for high-energy kids who like to move and explore. Throughout the week, campers spend time fishing, going on nature hikes, making nature crafts, and playing in the river on tubes. One morning, they get a brief break from the heat while spending a few hours indoor rock climbing at Rocky Top Climbing Gym. The camp also includes interactive outdoor games where campers can get all their wiggles out and burn off energy. Before participating in activities, campers receive comprehensive safety talks to prepare them to have the most fun they can in a safe capacity, covering topics like Basic Environmental Hazards, River Conditions, River Hazards, River Safety, Rock Climbing Rules and Regulations, and Tips and Tricks for Safe Hiking. Virginia Outside's programs provide meaningful experiences in the outdoors where kids learn, play, and grow their confidence through hands-on exploration and skill development in a supportive environment.
