The Coach Pitch II Division is designed for players with one or more seasons of coach pitch baseball experience who are ready for a slightly more advanced level of baseball. This division is for little league age 8 players. The focus remains on teaching fundamentals, but players begin to develop a clearer understanding of game situations, defensive responsibilities, and more consistent hitting against a coach pitcher. The format prepares players for the transition to kid-pitch divisions while still maintaining an encouraging, developmental atmosphere. Coaches pitch in a supportive environment, but the pace and expectations are elevated compared to Coach Pitch I. Players work on refining their hitting mechanics, improving throwing accuracy, understanding defensive positioning, and learning strategic elements of the game. Richmond Little League's Coach Pitch Division prioritizes participation, learning, and enjoyment, ensuring every player takes the field, builds skills, and gains confidence as they continue their baseball journey.
