Interested in learning more about wildlife and how scientists study animals? Campers will be able to meet and learn about animals, gain hands-on experience, use technology that wildlife biologists use in the field, and collect data from wildlife found at Maymont. They will also learn about how to participate in community science projects — both at Maymont and in their own backyard! This full-day camp for rising 6th-8th grade children aged 11-13 years runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm and takes place at The Robins Nature Center. Campers will learn field research techniques, data collection methods, and how to contribute to real scientific research through community science initiatives.
