RVA Paddlesports aims to engage Richmond's community with the biggest asset of our backyard: the James River! We are excited to bring all of our offerings into a weeklong summer camp for youth ages 9-14 years old. Pipeline Adventure Camp takes your child on a journey of challenge and self discovery through kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, stand-up paddle boarding, & swimming. Participants will join certified staff on an adventure on the James. Over the course of the week, participants will explore the James River Park system and navigate the rapids of the Falls of the James. Camp attendees will be aided by staff in paddle instruction, knowledge on river ecology, and first aid and safety skills. There will also be the opportunity for participants to practice and develop real life skills in both CPR and First Aid from our certified instructors. Activities include: Hiking, Swimming, Rock Climbing, Flatwater Kayaking, Inflatable Kayaking, Rafting. After a full day on the river, pick up your adventurer at RVA Paddlesports on Brook Rd. Adventure awaits this summer on the James. No experience necessary, stoke level mandatory. Participants need to know how to swim though lifejackets will be worn at all times on the water. 1:5 Camper to instructor ratio. Please bring: lunch, towels, change of clothes, swimwear, hat, sunglasses, river footwear, sunscreen, filled water bottle.
