Students ages 6-8 will explore the world of surrealism through collage and mixed media techniques. This creative class introduces young artists to the concept of surrealism—combining unexpected images to create dreamlike artwork. Participants will cut, tear, and arrange images from magazines, photographs, and other materials to create their own surreal compositions. Students will learn basic composition, color theory, and storytelling through visual art while developing fine motor skills and creative thinking. Working with instructor Hannah Larney, children will create multiple collage projects that encourage imagination and self-expression. All materials including papers, magazines, adhesives, and embellishments are provided. This class meets once per week for 8 weeks during the winter session.
