Classic Sleepaway Camp - Mini (Platform Tent) offers younger Girl Scouts in grades 4-5 an exciting introduction to sleepaway camp with the added adventure of sleeping in platform tents. This shortened three-day, two-night session provides all the fun of traditional sleepaway camp in a format perfect for first-time campers or those not quite ready for a full week away from home. Platform tents offer a unique camping experience—more adventurous than cabins but with the structure and comfort of a raised platform and roof. Campers participate in age-appropriate activities including swimming, arts and crafts, STEM activities, challenge course, outdoor skills, and evening programs. The platform tent experience adds an extra element of outdoor adventure while still providing safety and comfort. Counselors are specially trained to work with this age group and help campers adjust to the platform tent setting. The program emphasizes building confidence, making friends, developing independence, and experiencing the outdoors in a safe, supportive environment. This mini session is an excellent stepping stone to longer sleepaway camp experiences.
