Students will learn the beautiful and historic art of stained glass in VisArts' professional glass studio. This hands-on class teaches traditional stained glass techniques including glass cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering. Young artists will design and create their own stained glass pieces, learning to work safely with glass and specialized tools. The course covers pattern design, color selection, and proper construction techniques. Students will complete multiple projects ranging from small suncatchers to larger decorative panels. Working alongside professional glass artists, students gain an appreciation for this centuries-old craft while developing practical skills in precision cutting and assembly. Safety is emphasized throughout, with proper instruction on tool use and studio practices.
