Design a unique animal on Scratchboard in this engaging art workshop led by instructor Eden Ertle. Scratchboard is a distinctive drawing material with a black inky surface that, when scratched with a metal tool, reveals a metallic surface underneath. Participants ages 12 and older will use Scratchboard methods like crosshatching, line variation, and stippling to add texture and shading to their animal artwork. Animal photos will be provided for inspiration, but participants may choose to bring their own favorite animal photos to work from. All skill levels are welcome, and all materials are provided, making this an accessible introduction to this unique art medium. Students will leave with a completed scratchboard artwork and the knowledge to continue exploring this technique at home. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in drawing, illustration, or trying a new art medium with distinctive visual results.
