Future Leader in Training (FLIT) is a leadership development program for older Girl Scouts (grades 8-9) who want to develop their leadership abilities and prepare for future counselor roles. This program focuses on building leadership skills, learning youth development principles, practicing teaching techniques, and understanding camp operations. Campers will assist with younger camper activities, lead small group sessions, participate in leadership workshops, and develop their personal leadership style. The program includes team-building exercises, communication skills training, problem-solving activities, and learning about child development. In addition to leadership training, participants will enjoy camp activities and build relationships with peers. Available as both day camp and sleepaway options at Camp Timber Ridge, this program prepares teens for the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program and future leadership roles. Participants will gain confidence, develop mentoring skills, and discover their leadership potential.
