KOS offers comprehensive home economics instruction through its sewing and life skills programs. Students learn practical skills including hand sewing, machine sewing, basic household management, and other essential life competencies. The sewing program features a variety of classes in both hand sewing and machine sewing, with each class featuring a project to introduce and sharpen skills. Introductory classes in crochet and knitting are also offered. The home economics curriculum emphasizes developing autonomy and practical knowledge that students will use throughout their lives. Classes are taught by skilled community members who are passionate about sharing these vital skills with young people. The program addresses a key educational area of enrichment that public schools often do not provide, helping students develop confidence and independence through hands-on learning.
