Backpacking at WinShape Camps offers campers an immersive wilderness experience as part of the Adventure Program designed for older, physically fit participants. Campers learn essential outdoor skills including navigation, campsite selection, Leave No Trace principles, and wilderness survival. This multi-day experience challenges participants to carry all their gear and supplies while hiking through North Georgia's beautiful backcountry. Campers develop self-reliance, physical endurance, and appreciation for nature while living outdoors. They learn to set up camp, cook over campfires, filter water, and manage their equipment. The experience builds character, resilience, and deep friendships as campers work together to overcome challenges. Participants sleep in tents or hammocks, navigate trails, and experience the satisfaction of completing a demanding outdoor journey. Professional staff provide guidance while allowing campers to develop independence. Every step of the journey keeps Jesus and His Word at the center, helping campers see God's majesty in creation.
