The 3 on 3 Spring League is designed to help young basketball players truly learn the game in a more engaging format. With fewer players on the floor, each participant gets more touches and stays actively involved throughout play. Unlike traditional 5-on-5 games where some players rarely touch the ball and can lose interest, this league ensures everyone participates. Each basketball court has a dedicated coach who periodically stops play to teach key concepts. The league emphasizes fundamental skills including facing the basketball upon receiving it, reducing excessive dribbling in favor of passing and cutting, proper spacing, team play over individual play, passing under pressure, and sportsmanship. Each session begins with instruction on a new skill such as give-and-go, pass and screen away, passing under pressure, V-cuts to get open, and backdoor cuts. Players then practice these skills before playing 3-on-3 for the remainder of the session. Participants can form teams with friends or come alone and be placed on a team.
