Explore the tradition of confessional poetry in this 12-week evening course. Students will read and discuss works by confessional poets like Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Robert Lowell, and contemporary practitioners. The course covers writing about personal experience with honesty and craft, balancing revelation and artistry, and using poetic techniques to transform raw experience into art. Through writing exercises and supportive workshop discussions, participants will develop their own confessional poems. Focus on craft, voice, and the ethics of personal revelation in poetry. All experience levels welcome.
