Interested in learning more about wildlife and how scientists study animals? Campers will be able to meet and learn about animals, gain hands-on experience, use technology that wildlife biologists use in the field, and collect data from wildlife found at Maymont. They will also learn about how to participate in community science projects — both at Maymont and in their own backyard! This full-day camp introduces students to real scientific methods and technology used by wildlife biologists. Through hands-on fieldwork, data collection, and analysis, campers will learn about animal behavior, population studies, habitat assessment, and conservation research. Students will use professional equipment and techniques while contributing to actual community science initiatives.
