Each year, The Riding School at James River Equestrian Center offers Summer Riding Day Camp for children ages six and older. This immersive four-day camp experience is designed for beginner and intermediate riders who want to deepen their connection with horses. Campers enjoy an hour of instructed riding each day, learning proper riding techniques in a safe and supportive environment. Beyond riding, participants engage in horse-related crafts and games that make learning fun and memorable. The program emphasizes proper horse care and stable management, teaching children the responsibilities that come with working with these magnificent animals. Each session runs Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, providing a perfect half-day summer activity. Space is very limited, ensuring personalized attention for each camper. The camp creates a unique opportunity for young equestrians to build confidence, develop new skills, and form lasting friendships with both horses and fellow riders.
