The Wilderness Leadership Course is a three-week intensive outdoor leadership program designed for teens ready to challenge themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. This advanced expedition-style program combines technical outdoor skills, leadership development, and extended wilderness travel into a transformative experience. Campers spend three weeks living and traveling in the backcountry, developing advanced outdoor skills including navigation, wilderness first aid, expedition planning, risk management, and Leave No Trace principles. The program emphasizes leadership development through real-world challenges, group decision-making, and increasing levels of responsibility. Campers progress from learning skills to leading their peers, taking ownership of route planning, camp management, and group dynamics. The course includes extended backpacking expeditions, technical skill development in climbing and paddling, wilderness survival skills, and culminates in a student-led expedition where campers apply everything they've learned. This is the most challenging program offered at Wilderness Adventure, designed for motivated teens who want to push their limits and develop as outdoor leaders. The extended format allows for deep skill mastery, personal growth, and the development of lasting leadership capabilities.
