James River Equestrian Center offers English horseback riding group lessons for those who board their horse or lease a horse through the facility. These group lessons accommodate 3 to 5 riders and last for one hour at a time. Lessons are available Monday through Thursday and are scheduled at a regular day and time each week, providing consistency and structure for developing riders. The program specializes in competitive hunter riding and emphasizes both sportsmanship and horsemanship as the foundation for success. Students learn in a family-oriented environment where experienced riders mentor newer equestrians through the barn's Big Sister program. Lessons are scheduled and billed based on a calendar month, making budgeting straightforward for families. This program is ideal for riders who want to develop their skills in English hunt seat riding while being part of a supportive barn community.
