Post Oak Camp is designed for participants 9-12 years old and offers thrilling adventures that blend classic outdoor activities with urban forest and waterway exploration. The camp features arborist-style tree climbing and high ropes challenges, with kids always harnessed and belayed by instructors during climbs following a 'challenge by choice' approach. Activities include tree canopy climbs, limbwalks, giant swings, swimming in the James River (always with life jackets), and exciting whitewater rafting. Ground-level activities include creative games, knot tying, and tree identification. These activities can be relatively strenuous and require a moderate level of physical fitness. The goal is for kids to develop practical adventuring skills and a deeper appreciation for the outdoors. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with flexible pickup between 3:30-4:00 PM. Post Oak is one of three Oak camps (along with Red Oak and White Oak) and operates as a separate group with its own counselors, though all three have identical programming.
