Nature Camp's Fourth Session provides rising 5th-6th graders with their first immersive residential experience in natural history and environmental science. This two-week co-ed program introduces younger students to hands-on field science through age-appropriate classes in botany, ecology, entomology, geology, herpetology, limnology, and ornithology. Campers learn to observe nature closely, identify species, and understand ecological relationships while exploring pristine mountain forests and streams. The program balances structured learning with abundant recreational time, including swimming, hiking, games, and evening entertainment. Set in the George Washington National Forest, students develop scientific curiosity, environmental awareness, and independence while making friends and creating lasting memories in a supportive, nurturing environment designed specifically for this age group.
