This new limited offering class combines creative writing with experimental performance art in a supportive collective environment. Students will explore various forms of creative expression including poetry, short fiction, monologues, and performance pieces. The class encourages experimentation with different writing styles and performance techniques, from spoken word to movement-based storytelling. Working as a collective, students will collaborate on group projects, provide feedback on each other's work, and develop pieces for informal performances. The course covers writing fundamentals, performance techniques, voice projection, and stage presence, while emphasizing personal expression and creative risk-taking. Students will have opportunities to share their work in a supportive environment and develop confidence in both writing and performance. This interdisciplinary class is perfect for creative teens interested in writing, theater, or performance art.
