The Elk Adventure Program is an intensive two-week outdoor adventure experience designed for boys who have completed 10th or 11th grade and love spending time outdoors. Campers are out of camp for the majority of the session, except for the middle weekend and the last few days. The program includes fun and rigorous outdoor activities such as backpacking, whitewater rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, rappelling, and camping. Campers sleep in tents, cook over campfires, filter their own water, and will not have access to restrooms or showers while on the trails. Campers have the option to bring a hammock to sleep in. This program requires good physical health and the ability to participate in physically demanding activities. While offsite, campers carry backpacks weighing 35 to 45 pounds while hiking up to 2 miles daily. The backpack weight depends on what each camper packs plus a portion of group supplies including food and general camping supplies. The Elk Pack will canoe for 5 miles one day and for 13 miles another day. WinShape Camps reserves the right to decline a camper for the Adventure Program if they are unable to meet the physical requirements. The program is offered during all four sessions at Mt. Berry and costs $2,749 per session.
