Inspired by Sound invites children ages 5-8 to explore the connection between music and visual art. This workshop introduces children to synesthesia—the phenomenon of experiencing one sense through another—and how artists translate sound into visual form. Children listen to various types of music and create artworks that express what they hear through color, line, shape, and movement. Projects are inspired by abstract artworks in the museum's collection. The class develops listening skills, creative expression, and understanding of how different art forms can inspire each other.
