Beginner Minecraft Game Design introduces grades 1-3 students to game design and basic coding concepts using the popular Minecraft platform. Young designers will learn to create custom Minecraft worlds, design adventure maps, build structures, and add game elements using Minecraft Education Edition. Campers will explore basic programming concepts through visual coding, learning to create commands, modify game rules, and design interactive experiences. Each day features hands-on building sessions, collaborative projects, and creative challenges that develop spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills. Students will learn about architecture, engineering, storytelling, and game design while working in the familiar Minecraft environment. Activities include building themed worlds, creating obstacle courses, designing mini-games, programming NPCs (non-player characters), and developing adventure maps. The week culminates in a showcase where campers present their creations and play each other's designs. This camp is perfect for Minecraft fans who want to move from playing to creating.
