KOS offers comprehensive performance arts instruction through its theatre and music programs. Students explore acting, stagecraft, musical performance, and creative expression in a supportive environment designed to build confidence and communication skills. The performance arts curriculum includes opportunities to develop characters, learn theatrical techniques, practice musical skills, and perform for audiences. Classes are led by experienced educators, including co-founder Elaine Friend, who traveled the country with Missoula Children's Theatre teaching and directing youth productions. The program emphasizes collaboration, creative risk-taking, and the joy of live performance. Students learn not only performance skills but also valuable life lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and self-expression. Performance arts classes integrate with other camp activities to create a well-rounded creative experience.
