The Intermediate (50/70) Division at Richmond Little League offers players ages 11, 12, and 13 an exciting bridge between the traditional Little League field and the full-sized diamond they will encounter in higher levels of baseball. Featuring a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths, this division introduces advanced elements of the game while maintaining a strong focus on development and enjoyment. The 50/70 format allows players to experience baseball strategies that are not part of the traditional Minors or Majors Divisions—including leading off, pickoff moves, steals on the pitch, and a more dynamic pace of play. This expanded field size gives athletes the space needed to develop stronger defensive skills, improve pitching mechanics, and adjust to more realistic game scenarios. Players continue to refine hitting, fielding, pitching, and base-running fundamentals while gaining a deeper understanding of positioning, cutoffs, situational tactics, and team communication. Coaches emphasize instruction, growth, and confidence-building as players transition toward full-sized baseball. The Intermediate Division is an exciting step for Richmond Little League athletes, offering a blend of competitive play, skill advancement, and the thrill of experiencing the game in a more advanced and authentic way.
