Kerbal Rocketry is an advanced space science and engineering camp for students in grades 6-8 who dream of space exploration and rocket science. This camp uses the popular Kerbal Space Program simulation software combined with real rocket building to teach aerospace engineering principles. Students will learn about rocket design, orbital mechanics, propulsion systems, and space mission planning. Campers will design and build model rockets, calculate trajectories, understand Newton's laws of motion, and explore concepts like thrust, drag, and gravity. The camp includes both computer simulation work where students design and test virtual spacecraft, and hands-on rocket building and launching activities. Students will learn about different types of rockets, staging, payload design, and mission planning. This camp provides an authentic introduction to aerospace engineering and space science, perfect for students interested in STEM careers in aviation or space exploration.
