The Development Team All Summer Pass is a comprehensive summer sailing program for juniors ages 6-18 who want to take their skills to the next level through consistent coaching and practice. This program runs from late June to mid-August with four days of instruction per week, providing a "season pass" for all summer coaching. It's a great follow-up to Junior Week, offering a glimpse of what the Race Team is all about without the significant time and financial investment of full race team participation. The program includes both Optimist Development Team (ODT) for younger sailors and Laser/Club 420/Flying Scot/Melges 15 options for older sailors. Set in the beautiful waters of Fishing Bay on the lower Chesapeake Bay, sailors receive focused coaching on boat handling, sail trim, racing fundamentals, and seamanship while also enjoying swimming, exploring, and the rustic, unplugged environment that makes FBYC special. The program includes some clinics before Junior Week and continues throughout the summer with flexible scheduling. Sailors must bring their own boats (Optimist, Laser, Club 420, Flying Scot, or Melges 15 depending on class), though a limited number of boats may be available to rent for an additional fee. Parents have a minimum 2-day volunteer requirement to support the program. This is an excellent opportunity for sailors to build skills, make friends, and develop a deeper love of sailing through consistent summer coaching.
