Rock & River is Passages' flagship program and most popular camp for ages 8-15. Campers experience the perfect blend of rock climbing and whitewater kayaking on Belle Isle in the heart of Richmond. Every day brings new adventures as campers rotate between climbing granite cliffs, paddling through rapids, zip-lining 350 feet across the river, rappelling, and taking a 5-mile river trip. The program uses the Rock and River Master Program (Levels I-III) to teach fundamental to advanced skills in both disciplines. Campers work with different groups throughout the week to maximize friendships and learning opportunities. With a 4:1 camper-to-counselor ratio and highly experienced outdoor professionals, this camp builds confidence, outdoor skills, and lasting memories. Thursday afternoons include 1:1 skill assessments, and the week culminates with an optional Friday Expedition where families can experience camp activities firsthand.
