Summit Leadership Camp is designed for 14-15 year olds who have passed Level 4 in Rock & River or participated in Fat Tire mountain biking and are considering applying for a staff position when they turn 16. This intensive program introduces future staff to all areas of Passages programming while building essential leadership, communication, and adaptation skills. Campers learn leadership aspects while kayaking, rock climbing, zip-lining, and experiencing the high ropes course. The curriculum was created by current Passages staff who highlighted the most important aspects of camp that future staff should know. The program sets high expectations and provides tools to implement when campers become staff. While attending is not required to become staff, it provides valuable preparation and insight into what makes an excellent Passages counselor. The week includes all the adventure of other camps plus focused leadership development, team building, and behind-the-scenes understanding of camp operations.
