Jr. Vet introduces grades 1-3 students to the exciting world of veterinary medicine and animal care. Young veterinarians will learn about animal anatomy, health, behavior, and the important work that veterinarians do. Campers will practice veterinary skills using stuffed animals and models, learning how to examine patients, diagnose common conditions, and provide care. Each day features hands-on activities including taking vital signs, creating X-rays, performing mock surgeries, and learning about different animal species. Students will explore topics like nutrition, disease prevention, animal habitats, and the human-animal bond. Activities include building animal hospitals, creating medical charts, learning about veterinary tools, and understanding how to care for pets and wildlife. The week includes visits from real animals (when possible) and culminates in a veterinary clinic showcase. This camp is perfect for animal lovers who want to learn about science and medicine through the lens of animal care.
