Animal Brigade is a service club designed specifically for middle school students in grades 6 through 8 who want to learn more about animals and help them through volunteer projects and humane education. This program provides age-appropriate opportunities for young teens to get involved with the Richmond SPCA's mission while developing leadership skills and compassion for animals. Members participate in hands-on volunteer projects that directly benefit shelter pets, learn about animal welfare issues, and engage in educational activities that deepen their understanding of responsible pet ownership and animal care. The program fosters a sense of community among like-minded peers who share a passion for helping animals. Applications for Spring 2026 are now open, providing an excellent opportunity for middle schoolers to make a meaningful impact in their community while gaining valuable volunteer experience.
