Sailing School Mini-Camps offer flexible half-day sailing instruction for juniors ages 6-13 in the club's fleet of Optimist dinghies. These camps run from late June through early August and are perfect for kids who want to build sailing skills throughout the summer. Set in the protected waters of Fishing Bay, campers learn boat handling, sail trim, navigation, and water safety while also enjoying swimming, kayaking, and exploring the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay. No need to bring your own boat—FBYC provides Optimists for all participants. Classes run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and include breaks for snacks and hydration. This program is a great next step after Opti Kids and Junior Week, allowing sailors to continue developing their skills in small, focused sessions with experienced instructors. Each session adapts to the interests and progress of the sailors, ensuring personalized attention and meaningful growth.
