Nature Camp (also known as Camp Michaux) is a gentle-adventure experience made just for kids ages 6-9 (grades K-2). Set along the scenic Michaux Creek at Canopy Adventure Park, this afternoon camp blends outdoor discovery, creative nature play, and light adventure in a safe, supportive setting. Every day brings new chances to discover wildlife, craft with natural materials, play nature-themed games, and form friendships — all while building an early love for the outdoors. Campers explore Michaux Creek and surrounding woodlands, discovering plants, bugs, amphibians, and other wildlife through immersive nature learning. Using materials found in nature, kids build simple crafts, nature art, and projects combining creativity with ecological awareness. From nature scavenger hunts to forest floor challenges, the fun is active but age-appropriate. The program is thoughtfully structured for children who may be experiencing camp for the very first time, with gentle routines, plenty of guidance, and lots of positive encouragement to build independence, confidence, and comfort in a new environment.
Parent drop-off and pickup at Canopy Adventure Park. The park is located at the North Campus of Independence Golf Club with a 0.25-mile walk from the parking lot to the course area.
