Nature Camp's Third Session offers rising 7th-8th graders an engaging two-week residential program focused on natural history and environmental science education. This co-ed camp provides an ideal introduction to field-based scientific inquiry, with students learning to identify plants, insects, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and geological formations through direct observation and hands-on investigation. Campers attend twice-daily classes, selecting one major subject for deeper exploration while rotating through minor classes in other disciplines. Set in a pristine mountain valley surrounded by National Forest land, the program balances rigorous academics with recreational activities including swimming, hiking, and evening programs. Students develop scientific skills, environmental awareness, and lasting friendships while exploring thousands of acres of forested wilderness.
