Classic Camp with Ponies combines all the traditional camp activities with daily horseback riding lessons, creating the ultimate summer camp experience for horse-loving campers. This program offers the perfect balance of classic camp fun and equestrian education. Campers participate in all the activities that make Classic Camp special—swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor skills, nature exploration, and team-building challenges—while also receiving daily riding instruction in Camp Meriwether's renowned equestrian program. The riding component includes both English and Western riding styles, with lessons tailored to each camper's skill level from beginner to advanced. Campers learn proper horse care, barn safety, and riding techniques while building confidence in the saddle. The program emphasizes horsemanship skills, respect for animals, and the special bond between rider and horse. Whether your camper is brand new to riding or has years of experience, our certified instructors provide individualized attention to help each rider progress. Between riding lessons and traditional camp activities, campers experience the best of both worlds in a supportive, fun environment.
