Young artists will explore their creativity by sculpting fantastical creatures and imaginative monsters from clay. This hands-on class introduces basic hand-building techniques including pinching, coiling, and slab construction in an age-appropriate way. Students will learn to create three-dimensional forms, add texture and details, and bring their creature designs to life. Each week focuses on different creature types - from dragons and dinosaurs to aliens and mythical beasts. The class encourages creative thinking and problem-solving as students figure out how to construct their imagined creatures. All pieces will be fired in VisArts' kilns and can be glazed or painted. This is a new class designed specifically for younger students to develop fine motor skills and spatial awareness through clay work.
