Mounted Equestrian Games is an exciting specialty camp program for campers in grades 4-8 with riding experience who want to try something different in the saddle. This week-long session at Camp Meriwether introduces campers to the fun world of mounted games—fast-paced, team-based equestrian competitions that test riding skills, speed, and teamwork. Campers learn and practice various mounted games including barrel racing patterns, pole bending, flag races, and other timed events. The program emphasizes horsemanship skills, quick thinking, teamwork, and sportsmanship while keeping the focus on fun and participation. Campers work with horses to develop the communication and control needed for these exciting activities. Between riding sessions, campers enjoy traditional camp activities like swimming, archery, challenge course, and evening programs. Mounted Equestrian Games is perfect for riders who want to challenge themselves in new ways and experience the excitement of equestrian competition. The program requires prior riding experience as campers need to be comfortable at walk, trot, and canter. It's an action-packed week that combines horsemanship, athleticism, and team spirit!
