Academic Therapy utilizes a research-based approach to improving academic skills and overall cognitive functioning for students with information and processing challenges. Utilizing a multisensory approach to reading, students become more effective learners. Multisensory math is based on the Orton-Gillingham philosophy of direct instruction. Using the Concrete-Representation-Abstract (CRA) approach and hands-on techniques, students will receive instruction at their current academic level in numeracy, place value, the four operations, fractions and decimals. Each interactive session is 50 minutes in length and can be delivered either on-campus or via Zoom based on registrants' preference. Reading sessions are on-campus only and Math sessions are Zoom only. Students receive three 50-minute sessions per week for six weeks. Individual Reading sessions are provided by Mrs. Lori Nye, CBA's middle school reading teacher who received her M.Ed. from Regent University. Individual Math sessions are provided by Mrs. Haley Newton, CBA CadetNet's math teacher who received her M.Ed. from Regent University.
