Star Search is an exciting specialty camp program that combines performing arts with traditional camp activities. This week-long session at Camp Meriwether is perfect for campers in grades 4-8 who love drama, broadcasting, and creative expression. Campers will learn the basics of broadcasting, create and film commercials, write and perform short plays, and explore various aspects of theater and media production. The program includes instruction in acting techniques, voice projection, stage presence, and video production. Campers work together to create original content, learning teamwork and creative collaboration along the way. Between performing arts activities, campers enjoy classic camp fun including swimming, archery, challenge course, arts and crafts, and evening programs. The week culminates in a special showcase where campers present their work to fellow campers and staff. Star Search provides a supportive environment where campers can step out of their comfort zones, build confidence in public speaking and performance, and discover their creative talents. Whether your camper dreams of being on stage or behind the camera, this program offers something for every aspiring performer!
