Rock Five Advanced gives experienced climbers a full five days of learning advanced climbing skills from AMGA certified Single Pitch Instructors in the Berkeley Hills, Mickey's Beach, Sunset Boulders & Castle Rock, the Bay Area's most challenging climbing areas. This is a mixed age group of no more than 10 climbers in grades 3-6 and 7-12. The Advanced group differs from Level 1 in that the climbers will start climbing more quickly, get more climbs in, and learn to climb with more technique and harder routes. This camp is designed for climbers who have outdoor climbing experience or significant indoor climbing experience and are ready to push their skills to the next level. Climbers will be evaluated on the first day of camp and moved into the group that is the best fit for their skill level. The highest quality climbing instructors available in the industry come from all over the country to work with Marin GreenPlay Camp, including instructors like David Katzenmeyer who completed the 20 Classics in 20 Days challenge featured in Climbing Magazine in August 2023. Van transportation is provided to all climbing locations, departing from Harrison Skate Park at Mill Valley Middle School. The camp runs from 9 AM to 5 PM to allow for full days at the climbing areas.
